5 things you should not do for the sake of being cool.

Being cool is being sophisticated, smart, funny, knowing when to be serious and when to tear down the house. That's being cool. But people keep doing the wrong things and they end up making a fool out of themselves. Lemme be your wing-man, uh, wing-woman on this althoughidontknowifimgoingtodothisright.

Cuss words ain't cool.

The occasional F word is just fine but I've seen people spitting out cuss words every 5 seconds just because they think it's cool. Like what is wrong with you? I might tolerate with you if your vocab is only limited to those 5 words but dude, that ain't cool. Grow up.

Don't flirt or flaunt excessively. It's disgusting.

If you're expecting my first impression of you is that your cool then, you dream big, brother, or sister. No one wants to see you stick your butt up someone's face every second of the day because it's annoying. Be a gentleman or a lady, that's cool.

Don't ever ever sacrifice your friendship.

It's stupid. Just downright stupid. Friends are people who make you real, they're the ones who make you you, and being you is being cool. Being yourself is being cool. Not faking cool with "cool" friends that probably smoke weed and do everything of the above.

and this leads us to

Don't do drugs, excessive "night life kinda thing" is a big NO. Simple as that.

Do I even have to explain this? What you wanna be is someone who holds their head up high, who is confident, who cares about dignity and pride, not someone who'll regret their life in 20 years time.

Misunderstanding attractive appearance with being cool.

Most of us think that being admired, being idolized is being cool. Well that, as a matter of fact, is cool. But if you're starving yourself, putting a whole load of makeup on, just to be admired and just to be cool then that is not cool. I don't mean that we can't get that perfect "everyone's dream" appearance, we can, but it's superficial. Being cool is all about personality, remember that.

And that wraps it all up! Hope it helps!

#np: August's Playlist

So today is mourning day for the MH17 passengers, apparently, cuz their um...don't wanna say it cos it feels really sad...being shipped back to Malaysia. It is, unfortunately, my brother's birthday today and also Brandon's birthday. Such a coincidence. Anyway, here's a class photo we took when we celebrated Brandon's birthday during Bio class. Credits to Nallie.

Attempting my 45 degree pose and failed.

Today's special occasion is not my thing, no offence really, and there are songs I wanna share so here goes.

Kanye - The Chainsmokers ft. Sirens

So so much better than #Selfie

Cool Kids - Echosmith

Gawd, i'm in love with the band name, Echosmith, beautiful.

Nina - Ed Sheeran

Ed.

Riptide - Vance Joy

This is a first. I love it.

Chocolate - The 1975

A friend's recommendation. Love at first sound.

Good Luck - Beast

Their songs are always powerful. Living up to their name I guess.

Love Struck Me Down - Wanting

So I drove a thousand miles in a day.
Fourteen hours seemed like a piece of cake.
Cause' I know in the end the price was worth the fight.

And that sums it all up!

xoxo.

#np: Winner's 2014 S/S

Winner's finally debuted! Wheeee!

Winner is a 5-member South Korean boy band under the management of YG Entertainment.(I've always been an avid fan of YG's artists)

Winner won YG's reality-survival program Who Is Next: WIN as Team A.

The members are Kang Seung Yoon(Leader/Vocalist), Mino(Rapper), Taehyun(Vocalist), Jinwoo(Vocalist) and Lee Seung Hoon(Vocalist/Rapper).

L to R: Seungyoon, Jinwoo, Mino, Taehyun, Seunghoon.

I'm a fan of Mino and Seung Hoon, cuz I personally look up to rappers. They rap pretty well, living up to YG's name (YG's popular for their rappers)

I didn't know they debuted until the app I used for music showed their album on the front page and I was like damn, didnt see this coming. Apparently their album is topping music charts now, whooo I'm so happy for them.
Mad loving the album cover. Elegance.

Here's their full album on audio.

Empty's M/V

Colour Ring's M/V

帅气!

In love yet? :P

I personally like the songs Empty, But and Different. I don't know, it just hits me.

Their songs are full of emotions and I really like that. There's contrast in their vocals too and I think that's crucial for relaying messages and emotions. Like how Mino's voice is deeper and Seungyoon's voice is slightly rougher than the others but he has that touch. Taehyun's and Jinwoo's vocals are soft. Seunghoon has that just another boy touch to his voice although i'm not sure what that really means *sweats*.

Now I just hope that Big Bang releases a new album soon. It's good that YG's debuting new artists now but I kinda like it just the way it is. With Big Bang, 2NEI, Epik High, you know. Well people gets old(literal) so I guess it's about time they release some fresh ones. Not that I'm saying BB or 2NEI are getting old(not literal). They're still jjang.

Enjoy the music. Peace :)

Overthinkers.

Everyone overthinks. I know, but let me tell you something. The world doesn't revolve around you or me or any individual out there. In fact, we revolve around the world. We're not saints or immortals or gods, we're just petty little humans, mortals, that just...live.

I've heard countless times

"Everyone is special."

But when EVERYONE is special that makes us all the same.

Why?

Because it's not about you okay? Bad things don't always happen to you because the world has to have their fair share of bad luck. Same goes to good things.

Sometimes you have to stop thinking about the future, stop assuming things and just...live. Live on.

Don't try to be a smart-ass trying to crack the meaning of everything.

You can't find the meaning of life, or of things that had happened. You just have to live through it. Live on.

The problem with people is they constantly want more. But you can't get more, what you have now is all you get. So hold on tight, because though nothing last forever, in this present, they're still there. The people that were there for you when you fell down. The people that made you smile. Things that make you happy. Appreciate every bit of them. Forgive people, forgive yourself for what you've done.

Know yourself and know that things don't always happen to you. This world though is unfair, it isn't all out on you. Because it isn't about you.

It's not up to you to overthink, to assume things. Whatever happens, happens.

The people who matter don't mind, and the people who mind don't fucking matter.

Looking for Alaska - John Green (Book Review)

I loved this book. More than The Fault in Our Stars.

Synopsis:

Part One:
It's about a boy, Pudge(Miles Halter), who leaves his home to Culver Creek Preparatory High School in Alabama and he meets a set of bold characters who "live wild, die young"

They are The Colonel, his roommate; Takumi, a japanese guy; and of course Alaska Young; THE Alaska.

Pudge falls in love with Alaska even though Alaska currently has a boyfriend. Alaska's a self-destructive girl who's broken deep inside and Pudge just wants to know more about her.

Part Two:
Alaska was drunk one night and she was on the phone with her boyfie and she just exploded. She took the car keys and headed out and she was killed in a car accident. No one knows what exactly happened. Pudge is devastated and so is The Colonel and they decided to find out what happened to Alaska.

In the end, Takumi admitted he had seen Alaska went out but did not do anything to stop her because he was pissed at them for cutting him out on all things. It turns out that Alaska forgotten it was her mom's death anniversary and she feels guilty so she heads to the cemetery straight away despite that she's drunk.

My Thoughts:

I'm always in love again and again with John Green. Look deeper into his work and you'll see that it's not just fiction. It's life, and life itself. I love this book, I love the set of characters in this book. They're special in their own ways, each with their own individualities.  I love Alaska. Because I'm self-destructive too so I guess I can relate that. Her character is bold, powerful, solid. Great.

"I go to seek a Great Perhaps."

"If people were rain, I was a drizzle and she was a hurricane."

""It's very beautiful over there." I don't know where there is, but I believe it's somewhere, and I hope that it's beautiful."

"The only way out of the Labyrinth of Suffering is to forgive."

"What's the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable?"

"“Sometimes I don't get you,' I said.
She didn't even glance at me. She just smiled toward the television and said, 'You never get me. That's the whole point.” "

“We need never be hopeless because we can never be irreperably broken.”

The School for Good and Evil #2: A World Without Princes - Soman Chainani (Book Review)

I've blogged about the first book of this trilogy and now here's the second one! Wheee~~

First of all, it's still so so action-packed and addicting, just that...

Summary:

The story starts with Sophie and Agatha back in their hometown, Galvadon, and they're sort of "heroes" and Sophie's still her bossy self and trying hard to be good and Aggie well, she matured a bit I guess. So Sophie's father is getting married to Honora and Sophie didn't like that but she won't do anything because she doesn't want to be a witch again. During the wedding, Agatha made a wish. She wished a different ending to their story and all of a sudden, arrows from the School start flying towards the town. Those arrows were for Sophie and Sophie's dad locked her up in a church to protect her. But one day, the Elders lied to Sophie's father that they would bring Sophie to a safe place and Sophie's father fell into their lies and entrusted them with Sophie. So one night, they brought Sophie to the woods to get her killed and obviously, Agatha came and rescue her. And they managed to find their way back to the School.

After Agatha chose Sophie over a prince, Tedros, everything changed. School for Good and Evil now became School for Girls and Boys. All male teachers were evicted from the School for Good/Girls. Now Tedros runs the School for Boys. What's even twisted is that there's a new Dean for the School for Girls. Dean Sader. Professor Sader's sister. With butterflies as her spies, she can hear anything and everything. To make everything back to normal, Agatha has to either wish for Sophie and mean it or kiss Tedros, whichever her heart wants. Deep down, Aggie wants her prince but she feels that she can't betray her friend again, so she chooses to wish for Sophie. But they have to get the Storian first and then wish so it could write The End in their storybook.

BUT the Storian has gone missing and Tedros declares a Trial by Tale in ten days. With the help of Yuba, Sophie turns into a boy and goes into their tower to find the Storian. She's got the whole school rooting for her but she unluckily gets to bunk with Tedros. She falls in love with him all over again and at the day of the Trial, Tedros tries to kiss Sophie and Agatha saw it. Now, Aggie feels betrayed and pissed.....

My Thoughts:

Blah blah blah, not gonna tell you the ending. :P
Just know that shit happened and you'll wanna sleep forever till the 3rd book comes out because you're gonna die over and over again just waiting for answers and the real ending.

The beginning of the book is quite boring but it gets exciting when Sophie goes into the boys' school. Still so addicting and amazing the way Soman writes. This is just the perfect way to make readers realise that friends are important too. Sometimes, more important than your partner.

Can't wait for #3! xoxo

TFIOS craze!

Guess what? Guess what guys? I JUST WATCHED TFIOS. GAWD.

I know it's been out a long time ago but I managed to watch it in cinemas (you know, before they take it down) and it's freaking cray!

I've read the book before and even though I know what's gonna happen next, it still excites and surprises me everytime.

You know what a good movie is?

It's when everyone walks out of the cinema hall, eyes red, some still with tears, and you can clearly see that they're satisfied.

That is a good movie. I cried like hell in there. TFIOS is just amazing. It's one of those rare films that makes you breathless. It's awe-inspiring.

No I don't wanna go through the whole plot and story line. Read it yourself. Read it first then watch it.

Trust me, you'll love it.
